OIL PRESSES

These presses are manufactured in China.

The body is made from cast iron making them very ridgid.

The working parts are from very hard wearing steel.

We have used these presses abroad for many years

and here in the UK for rapeseed.

They are low cost, simple to use and last a long time.

Cold pressing gives a high quality oil that can be sold as extra virgin cold pressed rapeseed oil but the cold pressing process leaves quite a bit of oil in the cake. We know that hot pressing extracts more oil but the resulting oil isn't of as high a quality. So ..... why not put two presses in series; first a cold press (making high quality culinary oil) and then feed the warm cake from the cold press straight into a second press making oil suitable for biodiesel (or lubricants or soap).

This second press is still not considered full hot pressing since the cake from the cold press is only around 60C, this is enough to improve the oil extraction but not enough to cause excessive gums and high phosphorus levels in the oil.
